Our new boat, the fourth Storm Petrel, is a twenty-six foot Ridgeway express. She is powered by a Caterpillar turbodiesel.<br />With twelve feet of beam, the new Storm Petrel is a beast! She is wide enough to modify the snap-roll that can be felt in boats with lesser beam. Storm Petrel is exceptionally seaworthy.<br />Most of Our Block Island fishing trips are half day(four Hour) charters for striped bass and Bluefish. Our favorites are offshore trips lasting between ten hours and two days. A full day trip finds us searching for sharks and school bluefin tuna. An overnight trip is usually a canyon trip, i.e. out to the edge of the continental shelf. This is quite an adventure and is only attempted when the weather is forecast to be very calm.
